PS5 vs Xbox Series X: Long-lasting Battle

The confrontation between the Playstation and Xbox for years, and each release of a new version of both consoles is compared and numerous reviews are created to decide which is better? But the answer to this question has not yet been able to give any person, and it’s all about personal preferences. In this article we will review the PS5 vs Xbox Series X, compare their characteristics, learn about their strengths and weaknesses, so you can choose the console that is perfect for you individually.

PS5 vs Xbox Series X: Price

Let’s start the review with an important factor, which for many may be decisive. So, both the PS5 and Xbox Series X have the same price and cost $500 per unit. And while at first glance it may seem that this battle is over as quickly as it began, it is worth remembering that both consoles are not the only models on sale. There’s also the PS5 Digital Edition for $400 and the Xbox Series S.

Speaking of the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition, the two models are very similar to each other, the only difference being the presence of a physical 4K Blu-ray drive in the former. In turn, the Xbox Series S loses significantly to the X-version in graphics and technical characteristics, but the price is much lower.

PS5 vs Xbox Series X: Games

Competitors are competitors because they differ in their approaches to a particular task, but they do it equally well. After the xbox 2 release date became known, it was clear that it will again directly compete with the PS5 release, and there will be no end to this battle.  It is very hard to compare them because they both leave a good impression afterward. Nevertheless, their approach to game libraries is fundamentally different:

  • Xbox Series X offers all the same games you played on Xbox One and provides performance optimizations for your favorites
  • PS5 gives you a lot of exclusive games to choose from, although most of them are also available on PS4, which then begs the question: why pay more? Still, there’s no getting away from the fact that the number of exclusive games on the PS5 far exceeds the selection of games on its competitor

Otherwise, both consoles go head-to-head: they include both new and old first-person games in their libraries and an incredible number of popular third-party games, such as Cyberpunk 2077, Madden 21, and Destiny 2.

PS5 vs Xbox Series X: Design

Of course, it’s impossible to objectively evaluate design, because it all depends on personal preference. But we’ll try to do so from a comfort perspective.

So, the design of PS5 is not the most comfortable to use, the console is too big, it is difficult to switch configurations, and the standard version has an unattractive asymmetric shape. In addition, the control panel is easy to confuse the buttons with each other, because they are not different, and the panel is easily soiled and easily left with fingerprints.

At the same time, the Xbox Series X is also quite large, but in the case of controls is much more practical. The console is a vertical and sleek black box, which is very similar to a small-sized PC. The buttons on the control panel are distinguishable, which is also a big plus.

The only thing that PS5 surpasses the Xbox Series X is that its console has a USB-C port, and now this is very important because today more and more accessories are getting USB-C adapters.
